Autopen furore

Trump is off on a rant about Biden’s use of the autopen, claiming the former president didn’t know what he was signing, and that all his actions are hereby invalid and rescinded.

Trump seems to forget (though that’s no surprise, given his clear signs of dementia) the number of times he’s claimed no knowledge of individuals he’s pardoned, or the contents of executive orders he’s signed, when questioned by the press. He himself frequently has no grasp of what he’s signing.

And, of course, in his “do as I say, not as I do” style of leadership, he conveniently ignores his own frequent use of the autopen, along with every past president for the last hundred or more years.

It makes me angry that the US public seems happy to normalize this level of naked hypocrisy in their leaders.

Inverse logic

Apparently, exhorting people to obey the law is now sedition punishable by death.

Pretty symbolic of Trump’s tenuous relationship with both truth and the law.

But, the moment Trump sees high cost of groceries hurting his popularity, his answer is to reduce tariffs.

Clearly, Lizard Brain knew all along he was telling lies.

Predictably enough, Trump’s Veterans Day speech quickly descended into a grieve-fest. And it shows he has no clue what the day is actually about.

Trump wants to celebrate national victories, claiming the US single-handedly won both world wars. The fact that the day commemorates the people who died in the name of freedom is lost on him. Because he’s never sacrificed a thing in his life, and knows nothing about service except to himself.

Trump math

Hypothetical scenario:

Last week I went to the grocery store and bought ingredients for a fillet steak dinner.

This week I went to the same grocery store and bought ingredients for mac & cheese.

My bill this week was considerably less than last week. Big surprise!

But according to Trump (who’s never bought groceries in his life) this is proof that grocery prices are down.

With his razor-sharp legal mind, Trump seems to have reached the conclusion that any criticism of him is “probably illegal.”

That’s odd.

Only a few months ago the USA was still a free country and the president served the people, not the other way around.
