A prediction

Hearing how Trump talks about the situation in LA, I am ready to make a prediction.

It’s clear Trump has no interest whatsoever in de-escalating tensions in LA. That much was obvious from the start. Back to the dictator’s playbook, he’s gone out of his way to manufacture a crisis, and he’s now doing everything he can to stoke the flames.

If you’re expecting recognizable logic, the behavior of a rational person with an ounce of humanity, forget it. There is logic there, but you need to look to the logic of a sociopath to understand it, unfettered by any conscience or consideration for other human beings. In his first term, Trump was playing “dress up president”, enjoying the pomp and glamor of the role but avoiding the actual work and frustrated by people telling him he couldn’t do stuff. This term, Trump’s single goal as president is to stay in power at all costs in order to stay out of jail.

My prediction is that this is leading up to the declaration of martial law, and the establishment of a police state. There will be no 2028 election. Not a free one, anyway.
